The Idea Behind the Design

For a few hours on a dancefloor, background, profession, routine and social status can become less important. People hear the same track, move to the same rhythm and share a moment without having known each other before.

That is one of music’s most powerful qualities. It does not always require a shared language or a detailed explanation. A bassline, melody or transition can reach people immediately.

UNITED BY MUSIC celebrates this connection without pretending music automatically removes every difference or conflict. Genuine community requires respect, awareness and spaces designed to welcome people rather than exclude them. Music can, however, provide the point from which that connection begins.

Electronic music has brought together communities that were excluded, ignored or marginalised elsewhere. Clubs and raves became places where different forms of identity, expression and belonging could develop.

This design is for people who have experienced that connection themselves: at their first festival, inside a small local club, during a long DJ set or in the instant an entire dancefloor recognises the same track.

The minimalist message is not limited to one genre. Techno, house, trance, drum and bass, disco or progressive house: the category matters less than the experience people share through music.
